I'd just driven five hours to the Bay Area and was ready for an easy and comforting dinner. Dough Zone is part of a chain but somehow doesn't feel like it, since each location looks pretty different (the Portland location is especially impressive), and the service doesn't seem overly corporate. We got chicken potstickers, chicken dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, and pork bao. All came in a reasonable amount of time and were very good, especially the chile oil on the noodles. Each dish was cooked perfectly, and the flavors are designed to be more mainstream, which helps if you're bringing someone who might not be as familiar with these flavors.

From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, every part of our experience was truly exceptional. The staff, the store manager, Thomas, the food, the relaxing atmosphere, and the service (Mia, our waitress) all exceeded our expectations. The manager went above and beyond to ensure we were completely satisfied. He personally greeted us at the door, set aside a few dishes to make sure they wouldn't run out before we arrived, and was incredibly attentive throughout our stay there. Even when we couldn't say goodbye in person, he took the time to reach out and make sure we felt appreciated, welcomed, and was looking forward to seeing us again. It's clear that Thomas is not only kind and caring but also deeply passionate about his work and the happiness of his guests. The entire team at this restaurant radiates warmth and enthusiasm (with a manager like Thomas, it is easy to see why)--it's obvious they genuinely enjoy their work and have great camaraderie. Mia, along with the other waitstaff, checked in on us regularly, making us feel like we were dining with family. The hospitality was so heartfelt that we truly felt cared for. And of course, the food was outstanding. From the soup dumplings and noodles to the soup wontons, potstickers, sweet & sour cucumber, and onion pancakes--every dish was a burst of comforting, delicious flavors that felt like a taste of home. It was a memorable dining experience, and we can't wait to return! 10/10!!! The food, ambiance, experience, and everyone that works here is amazing. Thank you again to you all!

Ate dinner with my parents at Dough Zone for the first time tonight. The food was delicious and the service was great. Our waitress, Mia T, was sweet and attentive. We ordered the Dan Dan Noodles (X2), Shrimp & Zucchini Dumplings, Crab & Pork Xiao Long Bao, Beef Stew Noodles, Pan Fried Beef Pie, and Green Onion Pancake. This was enough food to feed the three of us. My favorites were the DD Noodles, Beef Stew Noodles, Xiao Long Bao, and Onion Pancakes. Despite the restaurant being fully seated and busy... Mia was great! We will be coming back.

I've visited this place a few times and have been satisfied every time. This visit was on Christmas evening, and the restaurant wasn't very crowded. The space was spacious and clean, and the staff were warm and attentive. The food portions are small, but most dishes are quite tasty. Braised Pig Ear The pig ears are sliced very thin, well-seasoned, and not greasy--highly recommended. Cold Noodles with Sesame Dressing The portion is small, but the noodles have a nice chewy texture. The sesame dressing is evenly coated on the noodles, delivering a fragrant and flavorful bite. Pan-Fried Pork Buns Thin-skinned with plenty of juicy filling, the buns also have a crispy bottom. Definitely worth trying. Five-Spice Beef Shank This dish was too salty, and the beef was dry and tough. Not recommended. Pan-Fried Beef Pies I decided to try these because of the promotional pictures in the restaurant, but they were a letdown. First, the wait time was long. Then, the crust was dry and hard, and the beef filling was mediocre. Not recommended. Spicy (Ma La) Noodles I originally thought it would be a dry noodle dish, but it turned out to be soup noodles. The broth was overly greasy and salty. Not recommended.

I wanted to rework my review for Dough Zone! I went last year and thought everything we had was okay. I gave it another try and enjoyed it more; the steamed and pan-fried dumplings were great, and there was nothing to complain about. Most importantly, the price here is unbeatable. We ordered three orders of dumplings with soup, and it came out a little over $30. You can't beat the price here! Very Thankful you were open on Thanksgiving, too, Dough Zone! It wasn't too packed, but service was slow on the waiter's end to check up on us and give us the check.
